No director or actor wants a stage dialect or accent to detract from the overall production. A bad dialect, an inconsistent or flatly wrong dialect can be very distracting to the audience. At the same time, the American audience must be able to understand the dialect.
Dialect 911 gives the actor and director a chance to use intonation, rhythm, patterns of speech and use of the dialect’s most recognizable sounds to make the script up to 30-40% more authentic and humorous, especially if the script was written by a native speaker.
Diane also works with a large network of actors and persons who possess specific dialects and accents. She can assure a level of authenticity when working with these native speakers.
