I have been working in theater for over 35 years and I honed my craft at the venerable University of Cincinnati CCM and the famed Piven Theatre Workshop in Evanston, IL with amazing educator and founder, the late Byrne Piven. I’ve also worked with iconic coaches such as Gillian Lane Pleschia and Paul Meier in my journey through various dialects and more recently with Knight-Thompson Speechwork. I am also a licensed speech therapist. I formed Dialect 911 in 2004 and over the years, I have professionally coached hundreds of actors and companies all over the U.S. and in the U.K. as well! As I worked in the U.K., I am especially adept at a coaching a variety of British dialects. In 2019, I won the coveted AriZoni Award for Theatrical Specialization: Dialect Coaching for my work as a coach on The Elephant Man.
I have coached Emmy nominated Hollywood actors Ron Livingston, Lizzie Kaplan and Matt Walsh to name a few.
I also pride myself in coaching actors and non-actors alike to speak professionally and with confidence. I teach workshops on vocal techniques and voice-over production. My classes are done virtually.
I am a sought-after accent modification coach and can help anyone to become more understandable to an American (or British) audience or even in conversation. I specialize in accent modification for Indian, European, Russian and Slavic languages.
To keep a hand in the work, I continue to direct, and act in plays, musicals and Shakespearean theatrical productions in the Phoenix area and I’m a proud member of SAG/AFTRA.
